Whether you're trying to lose weight, get fit or get toned the ESC gym has all the facilities you will need. The Fitness Room comprises a range of Life Fitness CV equipment, fixed & free weights, and a matted floor area.
Induction sessions are available for new exercisers and those requiring an introductory programme.

Personal training services are provided by Maximize Wellness – the Club’s appointed lifestyle consultants.

In addition to our existing Pilates classes Brian and Juliet are qualified Pilates instructors and can offer 1:1 assessment and advice on starting Pilates. Pilates is good for general posture, and also good for people that may have previously had episodes of back pain. Pilates gently strengthens and stretches the body, aiming to improve core strength, and balance the muscles on the dominant and non dominant sides.
Juliet Shaw is a chartered physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal disorders, with over 20 years post graduate experience in the NHS and private sectors. She has undergone extensive training in 2011 to become a certified APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute), modified Pilates instructor.
Juliet realises the importance of postural awareness, correct alignment, and treating the whole body as well as treating/ managing the area of pain/ injury.
A variety of techniques are offered to help improve the condition of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints that are not functioning normally. A home exercise programme for the patient usually plays an important role in rehabilitation.
Brian Dickson has been Training people for over 30 years as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. He has worked with some of the biggest fitness providers in the Industry such as David Lloyd, Virgin Active, Living well and Bannatynes. Brian has also taught at further Education Colleges in Edinburgh HNC/D in Fitness and Health and taught Personal Training Courses for a major educational provider in London
Brian’s passion for training individuals and groups remains as strong as ever and nothing gives him a buzz more than seeing someone change their lives positively by either losing some weight, rehabilitating from an injury or illness to training specifically for a sporting event or challenge.
His client portfolio varies in age and gender with the youngest client being 16 and the oldest 76, his training is a fusion of all the knowledge, experience and qualifications he’s attained over the last 30 years.
